help with head unit

ok so the other day my head unit turned off buy its self turned out to be a fuse. so after checking everything and puting the head unit back in i lost the driverside speaker. when i was removing the head unit i burned my finger on the back of the unit. so what could make it so hot that its buning my flesh?

second question is what does this wire go to

its prob a ground, if u ground it check all ur fuses afterwards if it has a power source it will pop a fuse

If that is the black wire then it's the ground. But it's ok if they cut that wire and grounded the radio directly. Does the radio side have an extension and a ring terminal under a bolt in the chassis?

The back of the stereo is a heat sink and they normally get quite hot.

When removing the stereo you may have jostled the wiring. A bad crimp will look okay but the wire can come out. Or you could have pinched the harness. There's not a lot of space back there.

Shitty crimpers make shitty crimps. The best crimpers are Channel Lock 909.
