alarm led

i am preping my alarm system so i can install it later this week and i am wanting to remove the red led and replace it with a blue led. the problem i am having is i do not know what voltage/mA the alarm requires. i have a hornet alarm (DEI). does anyone know what led i should get? :?

What alarm do u have? Mines a viper and I used a 12v 4 led pod and it works fine. I don't know if brands matter, but it might. Just remember that it will only hurt the led if you overvolt it. And undervolting it won't hurt.
So the short story is get a 12 volt led.

My alarm is a hornet. Made by dei I tried a spare led I had from my cluster swap but all it did was stay lit very dim. It didn't blink like the alarms led did

then your looking at a lower voltage take the resistor of your cluster led and try it then if it lights good then ur probably at 3.4v
