my ej1's rear of the car tends to wander a bit and feels a little sloppy in hard cornering. I'm considering getting the energy suspension master bushing set, but also i wanted to know what the difference and benefits of these lower rear suspension parts:

Rear Lower Subframe Brace:

- Thu Mar 12, 2009 5:53 pm #102617 I doubt buying an ASR brace AND a rear tie bar is worth it, the ASR brace will act as a tiebar too. A light back end would be more likely down to worn bushings, poor shock/ spring setup or rubbish tyres!!!

- Thu Mar 12, 2009 5:59 pm #102621 Buy the ASR stuff, the ASR brace is the best subrame brace you can get really, the tie bar won't be doing much, if anything.

- Thu Mar 12, 2009 7:16 pm #102637 yeah ASR subframe brace will work great and you don't need a tie bar unless you want the extra bling (I know I do lol). The subframe and the swaybar will help a lot!

thanks for the info guys... i do plan on replacing those crappy bushing later on this summer, but where exactly does that subframe brace bolt to?

and also the swaybar? i know someone said that the 4dr ex's had them stock so is there some factory mounting brackets/holes?

so would the subframe and the sway bar be over kill?

oh and speaking of tyres, i have some Nexen N7000's...heard of them? 205/45Z17 i believe

ha, thanks guys... i also found some of teal's write ups about his rear sway and subframe on here so i guess i will tackle those bushings first...

is it worth getting the rear trailing arm bushings along with the master set?

- Fri Mar 13, 2009 9:50 pm #103029 The Integra Type-R rear swaybar will do the job just fine also. 23mm so it requires the ASR brace so it won´t tear apart the subframe due to larger forces when cornering.

Integra Swaybar: 52300ST7Z01
Holder for the bar: 52308SS0000 (need 2)
Bushing: 52315-ST7-Z01 (need 2)
Bushing for endlink: 52316-ST7-Z00 (need 2)

And i used Blox endlinks, Function7 lower control arms and i belive the holder and bushings are ES (got them from a friend).

But it is always nice to go OEM when you have the possibility

Regarding the trailingarm i have only heard bad things about the ES since it is better with a brand new trailing arm from Honda.
Maybe someone here got some good stuff to say though...

Well...your ride quality will be bummmbbppy. People will say dont do it to your daily. But I dont notice it anymore.

- Sat Mar 14, 2009 4:30 pm #103187 Your description is pretty vague. But it sounds more like bad struts than anything else. When your struts are blown it causes a floaty feeling.

Stiffening the rear chassis may help the rear end. But stiffening the rear wheel rates (through springs or swaybars) will actually make the car looser in the back. If your car is tail happy, you actually want to stiffen up the front.

If you want to stiffen up the chassis, I'd copy the Type R. The Type R has a floor brace at the rear most point of the chassis on the inside of the trunk. It also has a reinforced rear subframe and reinforced strut towers.
