- Tue Oct 30, 2012 1:42 pm #318850 i have a pair of drive shaft shop axles, but on one the outher CV joint bearing cage is broken in pieces "the diagram below shows the cage that im talking bout"



i also have another spare axle with a good outer CV joint..

My question is : Can i remove the CV joint from the spare axle an use it on the Dive shaft shop one? they both look the same ..i heard that the CV joint cant be removed without damaging it, is this true or can it be done
any DIY on this?

- Wed Oct 31, 2012 2:58 am #318897 If a part is already worn or damaged, then I think you would have small metal particles floating around in the CV grease that would cause excessive wear on the other parts of the CV joint.

But I'd see what they say
