- Tue Jul 08, 2008 11:03 am #61224 Right Ive decided to lower my civic with 40mm lowering springs and Im going to give it ago myself, is there any problem with that or anything I will need to know.

Ive been told a few different things by different people and from what they have said It sounds like Im going to fuck my car up lol.

Been told my tracking will be out once its lowered.

The camber will be messed up

and a few other things, can anyone enlighten me on what to expect ?

- Tue Jul 08, 2008 6:50 pm #61286 Hey! Well I don't know if this will help but seeing that you have 17"s on your ride, you will have just a small drop. And I don't know why they say you will fuck your car up when you lower it, there's lotsa cars out there that are slammed and they're not fucked up right? Your camber will change of course but I think that's not gonna be a big problem if you're only lowering it a little, but when fully slamming it you need a camber kit indeed.
And what to expect is of course a lowered car and better handling. But those are just my opinions based from my experience.

PS. Get chassis stiffening stuffs too! Strut bars, tie bars, etc.

or some WEITEC springs which are slightly cheaper but apparently according to the guy in the shop are pretty good springs and are quite widely used in track racing.

Havnt got any specs tho.

I think Im going to get the WEITECs though as I can get them locally and not have to wait for them to be shipped.

- Thu Jul 10, 2008 12:15 am #61492 you should be careful men..if your going to take the old spring and put ur new springs on the stock shocks then you should make sure you have insurance..lol because if the front ones arent fitted on properly, the forks might stuff up and will cause an accident..better off getting them done by a pro..dont want any accidents aye
