#80944 First of all, I think 17's are big for the Eg. I'd suggest 15's or 16's. And for a cheap and reliable set-up, there's lots out there.. Skunk2, Function&Form, Blox, etc.

#81081 I wouldn't go too cheap when it comes to suspension, and if your running 17s I would leave it stock height. I had 17s before and I had rubbing with out it being lowered.

As for a cheap set up if that's what your looking for, I know a few ppl that had the Dropzone springs with Tokico struts and they had no problems.

#81107 get some coil overs..then you can play around with lowering it. I LOVE my coil overs and they are just cheap ones..they work good for me. Can lowered a little or raise it. Coilovers are the way to go! :thumb:

#81134 If you want 17s, get 17s. You'll have to roll your fenders if you lower it. You'll need 205/40/17 tires. I know a guy who was slammed in an EG coupe with 17s, and no rubbing issues whatsoever. You just need the right offset. He had +42mm, so that's what I would look for. You should be good with anything in between +40 and +45, you just may need to roll fenders with +40mm. I recommend lowering about 1.5". As Jdm_Katie mentioned, coilovers are probably your best bet.

"Q. I just lowered my car... will my tires rub?
A. Well, we need some information here. Generally speaking, it won't matter how much you lowered your car or what size your wheels are. What we need to know is: are you using the right tire size? Also (and this is the big one), what is your wheel's offset? For the most part, anything smaller than 18" should not have rubbing problems (on 7th gen and earlier civics) when you lower your car, assuming you have the correct offset.

Offsets are kind of tricky, to be completely honest; too low of an offset and the tire will rub on the outside of the fenders, too high of an offset and the front tires will rub the inside of the fender around tight turns (my old EG had the rub marks to prove it). Generally (for EGs and EKs anyway), for a 7" wide wheel, +40 may rub in some cases, +42 should have no rubbing problems, and +45 might rub the inside of the wheel well around turns."

#173891 x2. When I was having my rims powder coated, my friend let me borrow his 17's on my crx. It looked like a monster truck with so much wheel gap. It was interesting.
