#114685 Hi, I am trying to switch out my stock suspension for a stiffer after market suspension, but first I want to and need to know exactly what parts the stock suspension has. Can anyone give me a list? Please? Or any sort of information?
Thanks

I guess I should add that I have a 94 dx coupe, that is completely stock right now

#114706 you'll want springs & struts, or coil over kit. Also you can install sway bars, there's different routes to go here depending on if your car has them from the factory. Also urethane bushings to replace the soft rubber ones, best to purchase the entire kit.
You can also add chassis brace and strut tower bars, front and rear, but your car did not come with those stock.

Depending on how low you go, you may want a camber kit. If you don't drop your car too much (maybe 1.5" or less) then you'll be ok with just getting a good alignment. :thumb:

Also if you put a large sway bar on the rear, a subframe brace is a good idea.

#114885 i don't know exactly what it is that my car has or doesn't. i know it didn't come with sway bars and that's pretty much all i know abut my stock suspension right now. i already got a strut tower bar, even though it doesn't really do much, since i haven't touched the rest of the car yet. i really want to lower it about 1 or 1.5 inches. i am in love with the s2k suspension, so i want to get it as close to that as possible, within reason, since it's obviously not the same car. i want springs and shocks, not coilovers. i guess i am having trouble piecing things together, like what i have and need to replace, what i have and don't need to replace what i don't have have an need to get. can you help me?

#114887 if you're doing it a little bit at a time, then struts & springs are a good first step.
From there you can add sway bars or a bushing kit. Sway bars will cost about twice as much, but the bushings are a lot more work to install. Both will have a good effect of your car's handling.

And plan on a rear subframe brace (ASR or A-spec is the one to get, about $180) if you do the rear sway bar.

Keep in mind you'll benefit from better tires as your car handles better, you'll need to stick to the ground. A set of wheels/tires compliments aftermarket suspension :thumb:

#114891 i was looking at the ASR subframe kit. so how do i know which springs and shocks to get? don't i need to switch you the bushings as i swap out the current springs for the aftermarket ones?
