Fluid Pressure

Wile doing so I accidentally loosened the brake fluid caliper bolt on the left side, and lost some fluid.
Well after I finished the brakes worked fine but the pressure was low
I had filled the reservoir, but I think there was air in the line because my pedal went too low and was mushy
This weekend my pedal went to the floor but it could still brake.
Reservoir was almost empty, I checked for leaks and found none
I refilled the reservoir and my brakes have been much better since
Do you think the air somehow escaped and lowed the reservoir?
