#270307 So, I have been in a little fender-bender with my car. Its a 92 DX hatch that I swapped a D16Z6 in last November. Should I keep it a dark blue or go with another color. I cant afford the best so I am keeping it a flat color. I also have bronze civic VX 13s.

Note: I live in the portland oregon area where it rains all the time and we go up to the mountains all the time.

So, colors anyone?

#270308 I also have clear and red tail lights with black projector headlights with 6000K HIDs.

Im thinking of keeping it dark and going with either black, dark grey, or dark blue.

#270312 IMO it would easier to do the factory color, so that way you dont have to worry about painting the engine bay and door jams to match the new color.

but im really picky about my paint jobs, i like it when everything matchs for the most part, engine bays are somewhat of an exception since some people like to do them in different colors, but the only time that works is if you have an extremely clean engine bay.

#270325 Good points. Thanks for chiming in bro. With 175k on the car I don't have the cleanest engine bay.

#270355 ha ha yea i have 133k on my coupe and my bay is nasty, i was gonna try to paint my car some cool color, but i dont want to have to deal with the door jams and engine bay....

and with how i am i would end up stripping the whole vehicle to paint everything to the new matching paint.

but anyways, thats just my opinion...the best way to get a new look and keep the same color is to add a pearl in the clear coat or a metalic flake in the base coat, and you dont have to do anything with the bay or jams

#270384 IMO don't go with black
Black shows imperfections
Tree sap will eat your clearcoat and stain your paintjob

Id go with the same color to match engine bay a
or some variation of your color

#270417 Right on. Thanks guys. I totally agree. Keeping it dark blue would be the best.

I have always wanted to own a black car for the cool factor, but that will have to wait I think.
