best thing to do in my opinion if its a CF hood is to take it somewhere and have the flaking spots removed and have them recoat it with resin. probly want to make sure they have experience with CF though lol. maybe a speed shop or something like that.
also...if you wet sand your cf part, and clear coat it....if you want an awesome shine after. (look of glass). wet sand again after part has dried for a couple days with 1500 or 2000 grit. if you're not sure how to tell if you've sanded all the orange peel off, easiest way to tell is to dry the part off and look at it, you'll be able to see shiny pits that havent been sanded yet, the sanded parts will be dull from sanding. BUT dont concentrate on just the untouched spots after that, make sure you sand the whole thing evenly still. AND....if you're not sure how to high speed buff the part, take it to someone who can, if you get the part too hot, you'll burn it, and with CF being resined, you could really screw it up.
