Easy dent removal

- Tue Dec 04, 2007 2:06 pm #32306 I saw this some time ago and try it. it work good with big dents or medium dents that are on big panels but for small dent such as door dings the ones that were bothering me, are really hard. but if you can find a bodywork hammer, you can actually put the dry ice on the dent and softly start pounding around the dent and it will come out some, not perfect but atleast it won't look as bad as before, just make sure that the hammer your using is for bodywork. goes for a couple of bucks at any autoparts. Didn't try the air duster tho.

I've tried the second method...........It doesnt work. Now I was trying it on a small ding on my tailgate, but it might work on a big 'ol dent, just not the lil ones. :?

I knew that it wasn't going to work for the small ones that's why i tried the dry ice first.
Hey Mike, the ones on the tailgate that you are talking about are close to the "H" emblem? I remove them by taking off the inside cover and stiking a long screw driver with a piece of cloth on the end. Its a little hard but you can manage to stick the screwdriver on the diferent holes on the back of the tailgate.

- Tue Dec 04, 2007 3:16 pm #32322 You know the big dents you get, that you just push lightly from the back and they pop out, think thats all this is good for after seeing the videos again. When my door got hit most of the dent just popped back into place with a light push

The new dent in my door is a reasonable size, but its creased so i doubt i could just pop it back out :(

- Tue Dec 04, 2007 6:08 pm #32339 I tried the dry ice back in the day on my eg, but my dents were also mostly dings and it wasn't working. So I put the rest of the dry ice in water & cola bottles and made them explode. that was worth it :)

- Tue Dec 04, 2007 6:21 pm #32341 yeah i figured it would only work on dents that didnt crease the metal. all the big dents on my roof are the kind that should come out, and those are the only dents left on my car, so hopefull it will work
