#63026 Hey guys I bought a bumper for 10$. the paint is coming off and has cracks. I sand it with 220g then sprayed them with filler primer, but the cracks are still there. What would you guys recommend taking the cracks off? and what grit and type of primer should i use?

#63027 I dont think the cracks will go away, as for the paint chipping off, you just have to keep sanding until its all smooth, not just that one spot, but all arround it too.

#63036 its not really a crack on the bumper, but crack from the previous paint. I'm thinking sand with 60g take the primer and the paint out and start over so i dont have to bondo it. what do you think?

#63049 If it's just paint then I think you're better off sanding it 'til there are no cracks anymore. Or maybe just sand the whole bumper off, use an electric sander so you don't hurt your arms that much. :D

#63061 seeing as i work in a body shop i would do it this way, if your going to sand the whole bumper down i would recommend sanding it down with 120 grit with a DA sander. make sure you get everywhere on it sanded even in the hard to get spots, otherwise if its not sanded then once painted the paint will peel from those spots. then prime the whole bumper, and re sand with 320 grit. then coat with a plastic sealer. then paint and should end up very clean. good luck and if you have any other questions feel free to pm me. :thumb:
