as long as the vin matches the door frame and the firewall stamp, then i think you will be ok. i don't think cops inspect vin tags for authentic rivets.

you have to drill out the revit from the vin and then use a chisel to hit it out. i think they sell black revit at car paint store (ppg).dont get the chrome looking one cop will know. good luck
