#49473 Hi guys, I'm new to this forum, and thx GOD I found it... It's really cool and thx so much to who ever create it. :woot:
Well I've been hunting for a Honda EG HB now and planning to buy. This car is mainly for Sound System and looks, I have 0% knowladge in engine department  hehehe....
And I do like the SI version (bcoz I like cars with sunroof :D ) but problem is, I've only seen 1 around here and not for sale, :( :( :( so any EG HB will do then...Not unless you guys can tell me how to make a sunroof out of a normal HB.... heheheh...
So anyway, I need more tips/guide/help before buying it. I need to know how and where to look at to see if the car is "Accident FREE". I never like a car that has a major body/chasis repair, and anymore things I should know/worry about the HB, pls let me know. Thx guys.....

Btw is the SI Version the highest spec in EG HB? Is there any diff in Interior/Exterior with the rest of EG HB beside the weight?

#49485 Installing a Sunroof will be a Huge Hassle. If you must have a Sunroof get the Si.

Assuming you live in North America/The United States, If your not going to touch the engine the Si is the one to get as it will have a D16z6(1.6 Liter Vtec Engine, 125Hp Stock) Matched to a Short Geared Transmission(Quick acceleration). A few very easy mods would be the Basic Intake/Header/Exhaust combo. That should satisfy your power needs.

If your up for doing a Engine Swap/Work down the Road getting any Hatch will do. The CX or VX are ideal choices a they are quite light. Then do a Minime to it, Or you can Swap Engines. Most go to a B-Block(B16,B18,LSvtec,B20,etc) as they are quite easy to drop in and not that expensive to do so.

The Si is the Highest EG Hatchback Spec in the US. The Different Trim levels have different Interior/outside Trim depending on model.

Tips on Finding an Accident Free EG:
- Make sure all lines line up, [I.E. Hood is lining up perfectly with body]
- Open the Hood and make sure the Rad Support(Frount bar radiator is hooked onto) is not tweaked/bent/ It should be more or less straight.
- Check for odd paint overspray, Such as on the edge of the hood or near the windsheild wipers. This is evidence of the car being painted, Most likely do to being in the body shop.
- Check around Wheel wells for Rust, Checking around door is a good idea as well. (not exactly Accident info, but still good advice)
- Look at door handles and make sure Door is not bent around them, If they are, Someone attempted to brake into the car.(same as above)

Pro-Tip: Shortly after buying your new EG. Take it to a Lock Smith and get your locks/keys changed. Better yet install a security system and use keyless entry and unhook your door locks. This Will make stealing your new EG Much Much Harder, Thief's like our Cars.

Good luck on searching for a Civic. Hope this helps.

Hey thx for the quick reply chrono404. I'm still trying to hunt for the SI, but as EG HB for sale is very very very hard to come by around here, and I ever heard the one and only SI that I've seen here goes up to USD$9k. As for the engine swap/modify, that's gona be long time to go as I need more time to learn on it. But for now, it's all about looks and sound system. Thx so much for the tips, will keep that in mind. Really appreciate it... I'll post pictures if I ever get one.

#49722 Heres the best advice you will ever get.

1. BUY IT STOCK

2. CLEAN TITLE ONLY

3. CHECK FOR RUST AND BONDO.

4. CARFAX

This will insure you that no kid messed with anything and you have a solid start on a build without worrying if its going to break down. :thumb:

#49733 Welcome to the site, as for the sunroof, I would surgest to get a HB with one fitted. If you were to fit your own, it's alot of hassel and leaks.

Good luck on finding a civic. :thumb:
