There is a setting for always on, on when the hatch is open or always off.

#64326 ... like a dome light. Hm. I always assumed that the DA/DC/EF trunk lights were the same as the EG Si. But what you're describing is only possible with a 3 way switch.

#64352 Just to make sure, Ill go check in the morning or when ever I wake up. I do want to make sure I am telling you what is really there. but I am almost positive its a 3 way type switch.

#79417 bringing this back from the dead, anything for the COUPES that doesnt have these?

#79442 The coupes and sedans have carpeted trunks with no cut-outs for the trunk light. That's why I posted it in this forum. The wiring would be the same but you would need to mount it to the bottom of the rear deck like what you see in the 01 Civic coupe any many others.

#80442 nice diy.

#82801 i am definitely doing this with my cx. i am pretty sure that you could do this with the coupe. if i remember correctly i think my old lx sedan had a truck light next to the third brake light in the rear deck. the wiring info on this write up should be pretty much the same but the routing in the car would be different.

#104561 i dont get it............

you have two wires coming from that plug thats in the fuse box

then you have two wires comming from the light itself
and if one of the wires from the wires from the light is going to the wiring harness aka green and black wire and the other wire from the light is going to the wire ran down the running board to the fuse box clip

that leaves one wire comming out of the fuse box that wasnt talked about

if it was then im sorry it ust not clicking in my head

#104585 wow, forgot all about this.

My light is off unil I pull the hatch release, then it comes on.

Lights is on when hatch is open. There is also a switch by the light to just turn it off completely.

You can ignore the second wire at the fuse box. That's for something else. In fact, if I were to take a pic of the option outputs on my fuse box today, you'd notice that I'm using them all! So many projects...

According to the factory diagram, the Si is wired how I have it. It's grounded to the grn/blk at the latch that is only grounded when the hatch glass is open.
