I have a 1993 Honda Civic SI that i swapped to a B16A this summer. The only modification ive done is an AEM short ram intake. I was curious as to why i get so much wheel hop. Im not talking slightly, or a little bit, if i had a camera id take video of it. I was worried that this hop would kill my CV axles so i purchased new ones and installed them.
Would a bad tie rod make a huge difference in wheel hop? I plan to replace it very soon but was wondering if there could be anything else contributing.
Even in the rain for instance, doing an e-brake burn out just for fun, ill get crazy amounts of wheel hop. Im using steelies atm, getting my rims powdercoated.
Anyone have any ideas as to why i would have so much wheel hop? Is the tie rod the only cause?
Thanks.
