- Fri Dec 19, 2008 7:07 am #84516 So I got my hatch already but it's not running yet due to some bits and pieces still missing.

Here's my dilemma:
I bought speakers for the hatch, 6.5" fronts and 5.25" rears. But I found out that there's nowhere to mount the rear speakers, I forgot that they go beside the rear armrests. Good thing is that when I popped off the armrest panels, they already have the mounts, etc.

So my questions are:
1. Where can I get panels that have holes already so the speakers will show? (I don't want the Gathers set-up)

2. Do I need to wire up the speakers from the head unit or are the wires ready?

3. Any advice or DIY for my problem?

- Fri Dec 19, 2008 5:17 pm #84550 You can get the panels from honda for fairly cheap. Or you can look online for them.

As for the wiring, your car should already be wired for them. The clip that is used to plug into the stock optional speakers will be taped up down at the bottom of the side panel. You will have to partially remove the side panel to get to it, as it is just on the other side of the plastic panel next to the seat.

As for buying from Honda, you think they still sell that part? 'Coz I was thinking that it might be too old for them to still be able to get that part. And I searched on eBay but the only thing that came up is the Gathers set-up.

I've checked the local junkyard here, but no luck on finding the linings with speaker holes.. I'm going to call the dealership tomorrow to see if they still have those panels or else I'm gonna go order it from the sites mentioned by suspendedhatch.

Btw, I was looking at Majestic Honda and Car-Parts.com but I can't seem to locate which option those rear speaker panels fall into..
