LS/Vtec SWAP Complete (Pics)

Well, after 2 steady days of work, my swap is complete. I am taking it to the shop tomorrow to get my mid-pipe re-welded, and I want to loom my Vtec wiring with a few other finishing touches, but overall it's done.

I also did a auto to manual swap during the engine swap, so it took more time then average. Everything went very smooth, and it fired right up on the first try. Drove it down the street and it runs great. I have a CEL but it's my O2, and I'm going to pick one up tomorrow. The LS throttle cable was too long so I had to fabricate a mount. A 93 manual cable was also too short so the mount will stay.

Overall, it was fairly easy. I had some good help and did thorough research before I started. !! WOOT!!!

Here's some pics!!

I have been driving it for about 2 weeks. The power is AWESOME! Great torque and great top end. I have noticed a random ticking coming from the head. After diagnosing I found that I have a bad loss motion assembly. I ordered 8 new ones that are going in this weekend.

Overall, I am very pleased with the swap. It is mated to a GSR tranny so the combo is great for daily driving!

Thanks.

Very nicely done. :thumb:
Everything looks like it was meant to be there.

What ecu are you running on? P72 GSR? Chipped/Tuned P28?

I am using a chipped P28 from Phearable.

I have not had it tuned on a dyno, and likely won't unless I boost it. It runs very well.

Thanks!

Thats not a very good idea. To prolong engine life and get the most out of the motor you need to tune it. a chip alone isnt enough to run a motor. You cant factor in everything.

Why not a GSR ECU?

Jealousy...

Especially since I have the same steering wheel.
