I'm looking to make one of these for my civic, mostly because I use this car to travel and when I get trips of 1,000 miles it would add a nice place to get a few hours of rest by getting in the back and laying down instead of paying for a full days fee at a hotel for just a few hours of sleep.
What would be the easiest way of making one of these? From the ones I see, it looks like they had to put it together while in the hatch because they look to wide to even fit in the car.
I do like how they made 2 storage areas on the one I saw, that will come in handy to hold some stuff since I take a lot of stuff with me when I travel for work.

k dezines are located in my city. they were also featured in hondatuning at one point, and the installation is pretty simple. looks cool as well. they can also match your carpet so it could look as stock as possible. i can go there and talk to them, but i dont think they will lower the price.

Any way you could maybe get some pictures of what the storage areas? I've already went and bought the wood/carpet, I'm just having a hard time figuring out how to get the wood to fit nicely. I was also wanting to add two smaller little storage areas in the corners near the front seats to hold a few smaller things.
Do you think it would hold up with someone sleeping on it? I guess paying close to $300 would be worth all of the time I spent trying to plan it out, making it, probably messing up, and starting over, and then it not working or looking bad.

Actually, do you think that they would just sell a template? Like, maybe just some poster paper cut out for the right size that the wood needs to be?
That would be really nice, that way I could still customize it to fit my needs even more.
Even if they wanted like $50 or even maybe $100, I'd be willing to pay just for poster board cut out.

i honestly doubt that they will even consider selling a template because they would think that im stealing their design and competition, and shit.
heres the link to the hondatuniung article. you could see all of the mounting points, but they dont have detailed dimensions. But installation is very very detailed. [/img]http://www.hondatuningmagazine.com/tech/htup_0805_eg_honda_civic/index.html
if you weigh close to 200 lbs, then i would just put couple of crossbars and fasten them to the chassis as they will redistribute the force evnly.
good luck and if i have time i will ask.
