I was outside throw'n a wrench on my 93 EH D15B8, (I know, it cries for a forced induction B series every night, I can hear it cryin in the drive), and I decided to change the fuel filter as I have only had the car for two months.
I strarted to loosen the fuel line fitting that goes into the filter. I sprayed a quick shot of PB Blaster on it first and I let it sit for a few minutes. I went back to loosen it and I had a wrench on the upper thicker piece as well to give some leverage so I didn't twist the filter.
I applied pressure to loosen and the fuel line started to kink right behind the fitting.
What do I do? If I need to replace the fuel line if it snaps off; how far down under the car does this run?
Am I totally screwed or what? I need some quick advice. It is a fuel line so it is not as though I can apply heat to it to loosen it... what now?
Anyone ever have this problem before?

was it the plastic one? if so, you should be good, happened on my friends gsr - we twisted it too much and line kind of turned along its own axis, but we twisted it back into its old position and it was good.

Plastic one? I would hope your friend doesnt have plastic fuel lines.

if it breaks or kinks enough you will have to replace that line. Is it the banjo fitting or the other one?

always start with pb blaster

try to brace the filter unit when loosening the nut. that way the torque wiill not twist the entire assembly

mybad, it wasnt plastic but it was a flexible material.

It was not the banjo fitting. It started to kink in the line right behind the fitting that looks like a brake line fitting. It was the steel line itself. It did not kink all the way, nor did it create a hole but it is not going to settle with me. I don't know how reliable it is now. Who know how long it is going to last. Worst of all, I didn't change out the damn filter.

I finally went out, popped the hood, gave the fittings a squirt of WD-40. I let it sit for a 1/2 hour. I grabbed the fuel line with Nitril gloves on, for awesome grip, and I wrenched on the fitting. I got it off and changed the filter. Finally! Yes, it sounds quite trivial and purly a noob problem, but I'm happy that the line did not kink off.
