LF El Cheapo Car [Midwest]

I'd prefer sedan but anything goes. I would really prefer a 5 speed with cosmetic damage to bring down the price. I can fix any cosmetic damage...
The main problem I have is money up front, my DD was wrecked so I need to find a car fast. I've been all over craigslist and I was wondering if any of you knew anyone in the midwest selling something that maybe isnt online?
I make good money at my job and I'll be fixing the car up so that it looks very nice. I just need a cheap one to start out.
Maybe help me look? I was looking at a 1995 sedan but now im getting more partial to the 1996-2000 body style with the 2000 conversion, looks sick.
I have knowledge of modifying and tuning car's to the most of there potential and my last car was a 2004 Dodge Neon SRT-4. I plan to put the B18c in the new Honda I get.
