#112906 So I've been looking to trade the coupe for a while, and a guy texted me the other day and offered a trade, after getting backed out on TWICE last week because of people not being willing to meet halfway, I finally gave up so when this offer came in I was skeptical.

Here's the deal, it's an UGLY color, lol. Hiroshima Grey, however you spell that. But at least it's all the same color and the jams are all painted. It was originally black, so that's good because I want a black engine bay no matter what.

EDIT!!! It's not missing sideskirts or gas door, they were getting repainted when the pics were taken.

It has...

D16A SOHC v-tec with newly replaced d15b tranny
Prelude 310 cc injectors
New XTD stage 4 clutch (not fun but I can deal with it, Adam's is a sprung 6 puck so I know I can drive it)
T28 turbo (needs a rebuild kit because one of the seals is going out but that's not hard for me)
Turbo XS RFL blow off valve (I'd replace with a SSQV BOV)
Vortex FMIC
frount mounted oil cooler
Hallman Pro manual boost controller
Apexi N1 turbo back exhaust
GSR black cloth seats front and rear
EK side skirts

He's also throwing in an SI hydro tranny since he feels bad that the turbo seal is going out... but everyone else that wanted to trade was like I can't drive an hour my car has an oil leak so IDK if I can make it and this guy is willing to drive 5 HOURS and he's been honest. The car is missing a corner light, so he said I can keep my amber corners, and there's a dent in the drivers door but can probably be easily popped out.

Overall the guy has been HONEST unlike most Honda people that wanna trade. So I'm thinking about doing it.

The plans would be to first make the motor absolutely reliable to where I know personally I can trust it and then after that find a new color to paint it!! It has the seats I want, the sideskirts I want, comes with wheels (that I need to refurb lol) rather than hubcaps, and I want an SI hatch and have for about a year now.

The only reason he wants to trade is he has a baby and needs A/C and to not be out racing because it's not good for his daughter.

a Turbo D16z6 Hatch w/ fresh transmission with a B Series Shifter(OMFG yes).Unless something you havn't listed is wrong with the car, Like it burning oil, This is an awesome deal. I would have traded my Coupe in an instant.

The Turbo needs a rebuild, Thats not that big of a Deal. Theres paint on the Glass hatch, Overall it looks like a good deal. LIke I mentioned before I would jump on it. However be sure to look over everything really closely, Its seams almost to good to be true.

#112909 It's missing windsheild trim, needs a turbo rebuild, comes without a stereo or anything like that, needs a new dimmer thing, and there was one other thing wrong but I can't remember what...... and I believe all the trim around the windows and whatnot need to be changed out because of paint being on them. I don't think it has power steering either from what I can tell.

That still seams like a good deal, Defentally look it over closely, But trading a n/a D16z6 Coupe for a Turbo D16z6 Hatch is a good deal.

If your inspection is good then do the trade. His reason to trade makes since. Kids make your reconsider your life alot.

#112932 That colors not HORRRRIBLE.. IMO it would look sick with a lil contrast to throw off the color.. like black:mirrors, sideskirts, sir lip, and thin side moldings!! even a CF hood and trunk would look good too! I love hatch's so I say dooooooo it!

#112942 I'm still voting you keep the coupe..you'll be a lot happier when everything is fixed because then you won't have to worry about it anymore. Plus I'm against buying or trading for cars that already have work done to them. Sometimes you can't trust other people's work. I say if you're going to trade, trade for a stock hatch. Then you have a clean canvas to work from.

Prelude 310 cc injectors Preludes didnt come with 310cc injectors. 240 or 345cc. Depending on which model.

It will most likely chatter and make all sorts of strange noise for you to hear. Pressure plate makes it hard to press and release, not disc.
T28 turbo (needs a rebuild kit because one of the seals is going out but that's not hard for me) you may get a surprise there.

The turbo set up is horrid. Very crappy looking. Seems to have cut some corners with the set up, even though you can piece a kit together for cheap now. turbo is TINY. All of the hoses are just not right. It resembles the HMT set up that was used about 2-4 years ago. If you do get it, I suggest getting a new manifold and turbo, and redo the kit. The interior looks pretty good. You dont need a dimmer, just turn it all the way up, and throw the switch away.

I know you want a hatch, and this is an Si.....I guess. Cant see the moonroof and there are no side moldings on the car. Im not going to say trade or not, it all up to you. If you like it and think you can handle the clutch and ....half assed turbo setup, go for it. With you and adam it can only get better.

#112984 hatches are nice but were i live i see them way to much and almost cant stand them. i say keep the coupe. also i would be kind pushed away cause the turbo needs rebuild. i would think thatss from some hard driving. i say coupe over hatch. but good luck and im sure you will be happy with either one :thumb:

#112992 Yeah the turbo set up is pretty funky... but I'm gonna take it off, redo everything the right way. We are looking at buying a coupe with a blown engine so we might get that car, put the d16a in that, and buy a d16z6 and put it in the hatch... we will see though. I'm not sure yet.

The main reason I want a hatch though, is that I am too short for the coupe, I can't anything see when I back up, the blind spots in it are horrible for me, and I'm just not comfy driving it knowing my visibility is crap so the coupe's gonna be gone no matter what.




Turbo rebuilds are not uncommon, only like $80-90 and pretty easy to do, as long as it doesn't have much shaft play it's fine... if it's not fine, there's an extra turbo chillin' in our garage so I'm not too worried about it.



Thanks for the input, I definitely like the honesty on this site. I'll let you guys know what happens.

#112994 looking at those pictures... i'd be pretty leery about trading away a car i trusted for that.. not saying that it can't be made to be a machine, but its the damage already done you don't know about i'd be worrying about..
