#118663 So i was about to make my 800 mile trip to Tampa Florida, where me and my girlfriend are moving, and stopped at McDonalds to eat before hitting the road. The restaurant is literally the closest thing to the on ramp to the interstate. oh irony. Well the car was running great before. we went in, ate, came out. I turned on my lights before i started the car, like i always do, then went to crank the car. nothing. All the lights came on, radio worked, headlights worked. everything. battery wasn't dead. The red battery light, and red oil light came on. When I try to start it, everything goes off, radio pauses like its trying to start, but won't. All fuses, under hood and in cabin are good. Fuel pump primes. I did some research, and discovered that it could be the clutch interlock switch. checked wiring going to the switch, and no power was going to the switch. SO i re-checked the fuse for it, 15, and its good. checked power going to the fuse. good. so i called my mechanic buddy, and he looked at it, was stumped, so jumped it off at the starter, and got it home.

I'm ready to get out of here. We're stuck in GA with nothing to do. I'm supposed to be in sunny Florida right now... :x

Some Background that may help: Injector Harness looks like crap. wired by an idiot that had it before me. wrapped in electrical tape that is melted on now. Had this problem once before, the day i hooked up the parklight buzzer. wouldn't start after i parked it. so i pulled it out, looked under the hood, and it started up. shut it off, and dropped the hood, went to leave, and wouldn't start. thinking that the sudden jolt of the hood might have done something.

i really need to get out of here. sorry its so long. i included so much information so it would be a little more clear. i know how confusing wiring can be when something is not clear. anything electrical is my worst area. so i'm at a loss.

#118750 I'd jiggle your harness in different spots, trying to start it in between.
If this problem is happening when it is hot, it could possibly be the main relay? (I forget if it will crank with a bad main relay)
And youre sure it isn't the clutch switch? Did you try bypassing the switch with a jumper?
Check under your hood for all your grounds too.
That's all I have for now...

#118752 the harness is a mess. it stopped on a warm, humid day, and hasn't started back. we tried to bypass the switch, and it still wouldn't start. we checked all the grounds too. thanks a lot for the help. its very much appreciated. :thumb:

btw why was my thread moved? i know the topic seems like it should be in the junkyard, but i used that to give back ground information. it seems like it would be better answered in another section.
