I have seen 3 S13s on the road in the last 6 months. Three.

I see four MR2s a day.

MR2s might be rare where you are, they sure as hell aint here.

And I don't have a turbo. I'd have tro convert to, or buy one. Something I don't intend to do regardless of what decision I make.

mr2's are common here tbh

there was a s13 with some raj american engine in it! Thats all i can explain it by, trying to find a pic man!

Partly, yes. It has other shortcomings as well.

DC4rob: As for drifting an MR2, yes it's possible.

Have you ever driven one though? It really is not a nice feeling when the back end comes out even a little bit.

I'm not interested in drifting in the slightest. I didn't buy a RWD car so I could go slideways. I'll leave that to people who have money to replace body panels every time they slide into a wall.

Bored of kitted MR2s as well lol EVERYONE puts a border bumper on it, and the other options for it look like shit. So everyone's car looks the same before long.

I refuse to spend shed loads of money on it, it is a good car in stock form but it isn't my car. I've already said that, and it's hard to explain what I mean. It hasn't been since I got it. And with all the problems I've had, that hasn't really helped either.

Either way I'm throwing cash away - running a car I don't really know if I want to anymore, or selling up after spending so much to get it working.

theres other kits out there. and MR2's look hot in purple.

oh and i think i like the MR2 over the S13 just because i think toyota as far better quality over nissan in many ways. dont get me wrong i love the 240sx coupe tons over here and 1 or 2 RHD S13. but the 240sx just doesnt feel like a quality car.

but if i where you since you can get a REAL S13 the Q's are ones to get

i always wanted one for the longest time too just because i can just strip it out with out regretting it lol..

My civic was set up to oversteer. I have no problem with that at all. It's the feel of it, and the fact it isn't progressive at all. One moment you've got a small accidental slide on and the next it's sliding all over the shop. If you overcorrect by even a small amount they pendulum like a bitch and you've stuffed it.

Personally, driving the car "quick" is no longer enjoyable for me. I just can't press on at any moment without feeling it twitching underneath me. And the front end lift and speed is getting incredibly annoying as well. You've got from 0-80 before the front end starts weaving around. It's just not fun, and the fix for that is expensive. But regardless, the fact it's a short wheelbase MR car that is just a little too much on the snappy side for me cannot be fixed. That's in the chassis. No suspension work, or amount of stiffening will change it swapping ends if you get it just a tiny bit wrong. I don't like having so little margin for error, especially when it rains every other hour making the problem even worse.

Yeah, it is a great car when the conditions are right. Show it a decent road and it'll handle it fine. It just has these short comings I can do nothing about and that annoys me.

Regardless, I'm trying to hold fire for now and see if my mind changes even a little. I have a chance to own my 'dream' car (yeah, its a rusty old datsun, my 'dream' motor) at the age of 20. And not have to sell on any time soon for money trouble. How is this not tempting at all?
