- Tue Aug 11, 2009 8:18 pm #137320 ok so if you have read up on my recent car problems my d15b2 mini me has shitty rings that i didnt know about till i started teh thing.....anyhow right now i have some money set aside but im not too sure what to do should i just go non=vtec and call it a day or should i do another mini me i dont have enough money really to cover a headgasket set which sucks plus mines bearly 300miles or so old....but yea what i was thinking is sell my z6mini me swap get a nonvtec either d15b2 or d15 something whatever it may be keep my si transmition since it drives perfectly and tear down my d15b2 block for all the new parts i put on it.....

Just wondering how that sounds and also just wondering if anyone knows by chance what mini me swaps are running now adays price wise mines been referbished ported and polished i was thinking of selling everything timing belt, cam gear, head, and stuff like that includeing the virgin p28 i have for around 250 idk if thats too high of a price i know ecus are running around 75 and i put almost 150 into my head.......

- Tue Aug 11, 2009 8:23 pm #137322 why cant you just replace the head gasket and throw on the new rings??? why do you need a full gasket kit? and if the head gasket is fairly new i dont see why not reuse it... mabey im 100% wrong. i would just reuse..

and my neighbor just started talking me into that replacing the rings n such i mean yea ill have the motor out anyhow why not just fix it....I just dont know if i would need to replace other things....ill check and see how much just the head gasket is and of coarse a exhaust mani gasket but besides that i dont see me needing any other gaskets since i can keep the intake on there.....and the oil pan gasket is pretty much still new......

We will definately see how things will pan out here I may just replace the rings who knows

Or someone just emailed me they have a semi rusty rex crx for those who dont call them that and it looks nice running motor and good 5spd trans he wants 300 for the whole car so idk ive always wanted a rex but all the ones i have had the glory of owning have all been rust buckets as in teh whole frame was rotted out this crx just seems like all the replaceable sheetmetal is roted but yea price pirice priceings are my whole main concern because i dont have alot of money....
