#90003 Lets just say I am rediculously bored. Got to thinking about how tough hondas can be however, even the toughest fall down. I say we share some of those humerous honda thrashing storys.

The time I blew my head gasket. Got the head all rebuilt while it was off, got everything back together, did all necessary checks and what not, i wasnt on the road 2 minutes before I fired rod #4 into the asphalt and back to square one it was.. Side note i only owned the car for 2 weeks.

#90019 been working on my car since Nov 2005.

I've driven it about 2000 miles since then.

First I had rod knock after 1200 or so of those miles on my new engine. Replaced the bearings and then my slave cyl went out & 3rd gear started grinding. Also the engine was starting to overheat, so I replaced the headgasket. Then I Rebuilt the transmission and installed an OBX LSD that did not fit right and cost me another month of downtime this past summer. Finally began to install the turbo system I bought in Jan 2006 and had been sitting in the basement since. Took off the downpipe to find a chipped fin on the turbine wheel.
Just bought a new rebuilt turbo, so things are getting back on track as soon as it warms up a little so I can work on the car.

#90027 A guy we call Revvin..

One day his ek developes the slightest rod nock. wouldve required the replacement of bolts and bearings. Note the nickname, he proceeds to beat it off the rev limiter, smoke a set of tires off, drive for about 45 minutes, burning a good ammount of fuel, to finnaly throw rod #4 through the block.. still not sattisfied he pulls a 4th to 2nd and drives for another 1-2 kilometers with his foot in the firewall. not once did it quit.

Cost him roughly $1000 dollars to get it back on the road and still swears it was worth every penny.

not only do Honda's meet his rediculously heavy (and apparently not-connected-to-his-head) foot .. but so do an abundance of GM products. he has many a broken 2.4 litre cavy motor laying around.

my profile of Revvin' ;

I enjoy getting hammered and doing burnouts, rev limiters, spun bearings, and then a continued thrashing on the car after ALL of the above take place.. A slight rod knock is not a big deal at all, nothing a few more rev limiters won't fix and the valve tick that makes my motor sound like a diesel even when its overheated is music to my ears. I swear by the saying "5th gear is useless" and i know exactly what the speed cut off in all my first 3 gears are. 3rd is 173 kilos :), and in a 50 zone i do not leave 1st gear. In fact, if my car would let me, i would still be in first gear at highway speeds.

bahaha Evan you are wicked. If only you had an eg.

#90235 done a B18c-R swap in my SiR2, used the Y21 gearbox first off because i couldnt afford the S80 LSD box straight away!!!

had grinding from 3rd to 4th in the Y21 so swapping it for the S80 LSD box was on my list to do...

anyway, had the B18c-R engine in for about when i was going down a road called "the golden vally"

its the local race road, its exactly 3 miles long and has not got one bend in it :D

got onto the golden to meet a DC5 ITR... race on

flat out, side by side... went from 3rd to 4th with a big crunch... carried on racing as i was getting in front by now... coming to the rev limit in 4th so doing about 130mph (give or take)

went to go into 5th and ended up back into 3rd

blew a hole in the gearbox case, the clutch plate was non existant, pitted the fly wheel and bent 4 valves!!!

to get back on the road...

- skunk2 valves
- OEM head bolts
- OEM cam belt and tensioner
- rebuild head
- ported and polished (DIY style y0 :D )
- full gasket set
- S80 ITR LSD box
- exedy organic clutch kit
- v-spec lightened fly wheel re-surfaced

#90269 My brother used to have a 94 honda accord LX ya know fith the crappy F22B non vtec plant, well aside from being combfy and all I would take it out everynow and then and practiced my launching. Funny thing is that I could literally rev to 3,500 or 4,000 drop the clucth and the rmps wouldn't drop one millimeter. In the beginning I though i was mad good and quick shifting but then I realized that his clutch was about to go out  . The little car ran good though.
