my dad would always work on his own cars too, big reason was because he couldnt/cant afford to pay someone to do something he can do himself with some hard work put in. and i got in it through then. the first thing that got me into cars was when i was 5 and my dad took me for a drive in his old fiero.

The guy across the street from me STILL has his Fiero running, but I'm not sure what year it is, it's at newest late 80's

I belive its in my blood!
Me and my dad's project car.
Been in the family since 1982
383 Stroker pushing about 500 hp. And boy is it run to drive!
If any of you have ever ridden or driven an old corvette you know how rugged and stiff everything is. It will beat you to death! But I think that's what makes it so fun!

If it ran in your blood I def. wouldn't be a car guy. My dad has basic knowledge of things but really never was an automotive enthusiast. I never played with hot wheels as a little kid but when I was about 10 I really started liking cars. I got into 1/10th scale hobby r/c cars, then when I bought my first car when I was 14 I worked on stupid stuff on that 99 taurus like everyday. Then she blew up and I bought the Civic 2 weeks after I turned 16 and started really learning.

i think me and my dad are alike in the sense that we like coming up with concepts on how to fix or make a car better, but we don't like doing the work ourselves
but the passion is there

i do believe that its in my family's blood... ever since i was about 9 years old i have been totally obsessed with working on cars. it started with my dad and then my older brother... next it got to me and now it is down to my 10 and 11 year old brothers. i love sitting back listening to my younger brothers "spew" their knowledge when it comes to automobiles. lol

It's def not in my blood. My dad likes cars, but he does just basic things and stuff.
I'm a computernerd and i always will be that
Round the age of 16 i realize that i didn't want a scooter (very common here in Holland) cuz there where to slow.
Since i joined some forums my intrest in cars (Honda) is growing and growing and growing, also my knowledge about it.

I can say it doesn't, because my dad hates working on cars even doing simple stuff like an oil change. He knows how to and stuff but he just rather point the finger at someone and get assured that it will get fixed than to f%$# it up himself.. lol
as to me i love to learn new stuff so i took that initiative of learning how to fix my car that i drive daily..
