Bump, any update on this?? Id do what baxter said...read up on local laws and shit what not, etc. Get in touch with the tow yard and "politely inform them, you have filed a lawsuit against them" etc. somethin to make them think twice about this scam..tell em your going to your local newspaper and shit...anything to fek em in the bum 
worst case scenario if this doesnt work try to strike up a deal with em about paying the amount of time your car was actually in there...whoever it was saying they worked in a tow yard said after 28 days or w/e they had reasons to sell/crush your car...in that case and only if there is no other way out, offer to pay them for that amount of time (28 days) ...this is a truly fucked up situation..sorry to hear about it man =/
