yes D's are cheap. they are cheap for a reason.. they are made for economy. and every one's got them.. especially here in america.. almost every civic had them.

well I can throw Cams in my K and it will be faster than your turbo D
IMO D's are becoming even more Obsolete every day.

its going to become this

B's will become D's and K's will be come B's and the J's are going to become K's.. and etc...

If you miss shift in a b series i can guarantee you your engine will be 100% toast after.

Like i said before stock for stock a b18c Vs a k20a k wins all day long on power and torque,

So if you swap a stock k in your car its going to be faster than swapping in a stock b.

I'm well aware that the R series replaced the D series, I'm just saying if the K could have just as easily been put into the new civic's and would have been cheaper then all the R&D going into a completely new motor.

And not once did i deny the potential power of the K series, yes it can get you going, but 9 out of 10 times it's more then just plopping in a B series and putting a mile tune on it, or boost.

And yes any motor can be fucked up by a good misshift, Just seems to happen more in the K series then others. And they just aren't as reliable when swapped in a car that wasn't designed for it. Take a B18C5 and put it in a hatch and it is virtually plug and play.

Anyway i'm going to say this and this is the last thing i'm saying in here
In terms of motors Toyota > Honda all fucking day long. My next car will more then likely be a Toyota again.

I have but one thing to say Non-Interference system talk to any Yota owner who's had a timing belt let go on them and ask how much repairs were

For me it was $310, that's for parts, labor, and tow to the shop. the motor had ~263,000 km's(~164,000miles) on it and it was the original belt (didn't know it wasn't replaced when i got the car)

And sure, only the JZ engines are worth a mention from Toyota :roll:

3SGTE ii? 245hp? MR2 turbo and Celica GT4? Both extremely rapid, and a GT4 would kick the tits off of any civic in a corner or on a straight, and they'll still be here in 20 years time due to the aluminium body.

The last line of Corolla with the supercharged 2zzfe was also fairly rapid - that engine lives on in Lotus' Exige S.

Who gives a shit anyway? The way it goes down these days it doesn't matter what you've got - you can just drop a new engine in anyway so this talk is completely irrelevant of "Toyota's are slow".

Toyota's have better build quality and a better image (if you give a shit about that) than any Honda. I see far more fucked up Honda's than I do Toyota's.

This talk is pointless anyway.

I've gone off both to some degree and my interests have always nominally laid elsewhere. I'll take a pre-boosted motor in a car that drives the correct wheels with cheap tuning overheads. kthxbai.

#138911 Well I'm kinda on the fence on this one. I have no doubt that then in the future, K series will phase out the B series for swaps and will be probably more affordable too. But here in the present, they are a redonkclious priced. Hell you can swap in B18C5 and still have change to get a coffee, compared to getting a K20 swap.

dude..... for the same price i actually did a Kswap and still have money

what i'm trying to get across.. is IF you Build you motor. IT will be CHEAPER.

:D i know you didnt read any of the post other wise you know (because i mentioned i had just under 4G's into my K build (thats haveing extra blocks and a K24 also and extra trannies!))
