Has anyone ever built a home bar?
I've been thinking about putting a bar in the new pole barn. I've seen some home made bars in people's basements and it doesn't seem too difficult to design. Is there any good advice? I've got a bunch of free 12" deep cabinets, some deeper 22" ones with a countertop and stainless sink/faucet. I've also got an old mini fridge.
Because this is going to be in the pole barn/garage, I'm going to try to use old car parts to construct the bar so they will be visible. Like use an old shock absorber as a shelf support, or an old wheel as a base for a bar stool. Instead of going to Home Depot or ebay to buy something I need, I'm going to look at my massive collection of old car parts first to see if I can 'recycle' anything into part of the bar.
I'm not looking for a nice shiny oak bar with fancy lighting & bar stools, I want to design a bar that looks like part of a working garage.
I googled and couldn't find any examples of what I have in mind, only things that I do not want...
way too nice...
The rough cut timbers are cool but still way too nice...
This one is more on my budget but pretty simple. I'll be incorporating tv's, NES, lighting etc... really the only thing I like about this one is that they didn't spend a fortune on it.
