Alright guys so after reading around on club rsx i came across their key guy doing mail in work and i realized well shit i work in a key shop so why cant i help out my buddies?! So here we go. I am offering any questions answered (honestly too) about your car locks/ignition's. I am also available for you to send things to me if it comes down to it (but as i stated i am honest so, honestly it would probably cost more to send me stuff than to go to your local locksmith ha). For personal things such as those you should pm me so we arnt fully glory here.
Now high security keys (such as lexus bmw and mercedes) i am not to knowledgeable on but i can get an answer.

Question about remote fobs for unlocking? I can answer that!
Dont believe the dealer when they say you have an electronic chip key and want you to pay ALOT! well they're right but probably over charging you
Keys works like shit in your lock? I can give you things to try to determine how to solve that.
Want to by car opening tools? um yeah well i cant do that one. lol.
Want to know a rough price for something to have done at your locksmith? I can give you our prices to go off of.



Well i hope i end up being some help to people out there and dont completely fail on this thread

my boss just gave me a free metal tool cabinet but he has no keys for the locks.

If I take the locks off and bring them to a hardware store, can they make me a key for them? How much should that cost?

Most harware stores i know of can't. Usually its a locksmith thing. Are there numbers or letters or both on the face plate? EX: ch504 or 545 or 723. If so all you have to do is take those numbers to any locksmith and say you have a code and they should be able to do a key by code (usually knowing the make of the locks and or cabinet helps but isnt always easy to obtain). But back to the main topic, usually you need the experience and knowledge of what fits and how to make a key by hand. I know that alteast here in Oregon i havnt ran into a single hardware store that can. But then again they use to be alot more legit than they are now a days. i hope that helps bro.


oh and pricing! For us a key by code or hand is either $15 or $10 depending on how hard. (could be more if its super hard/expensive key)

Is the lock like a basic cam lock? Such as those that are on file cabinets where its rounded and only turns 90 degrees?

Ok cool. That should be simple and cheap. If you even had a key sitting around you could probably just key it up your self by taking it apart and you will see and undertand how it works once you see the insides and have the key in there.

Well not really. Cause what i just explained incorporates you having to have the lock out and apart. Well shit if you've done that then the thief is gonna get what they want any way. For things such as cars or even houses its alot more difficult than that. Cam locks like those are simple things. Im not explaining how to file things just move the wafers on the inside of the lock around.

are skeleton key locks simple to pick?
I was over at my neighbor's and he has this old desk with a cover. He shut the cover and the latch moved down and now it's locked. We looked in the key hole and it's a skeleton key with the tabs on both sides. is it worth trying to open it ourselves with some regular tools?

Personally i have a bitch of a time doin them. But they also arnt what i work on often. So personally no. But my boss can open them up pretty fast lol. Now im not condoning any of this by any means because in many states it is illegal but yeah its worth it. You guys probably wont harm much and its fun to do lol.
