Yup...it's true, I had a pair of shorts on and had my cell phone in my pocket. I changed my shorts so that I could go out and mow my dust bowl of a lawn. While I was doing that my wife decided to toss my shorts into the wash machine with the laundry.

I came in and said...where are my shorts,oh in the wash machine,so I said uh did you take my cell phone out of the pocket.,nope....lol...great.

So my phone went through a complete wash even the spin cycle. I pulled my phone out of the wash machine and it was dead as a door nail.

My wife said I heard if you take the battery out any stick the phone into a bag of rice over night it may dry it out and work again,so I said yah right.

I had nothing to loose so tried the rice trick, I buried the phone in a plastic bag full of Uncle Bens, and woke up the next morning and low and behold the darn thing turned on and worked,I couldn't believe it.:yes1:

So if yah drop your phone into a puddle, sink, lake etc try this out,it worked for me.

it should work as rice absorbs moisture.

my old boss had dropped his phone in a glass of ice water (blunts) and did this trick and it worked... I also, Believe it or not, did this with my laptop after i dropped a nice sized glass of iced tea on it... took alot of rice, but definitely worked :thumb:

Glad it worked Tony!

dam ricers...................

this is why people put a little rice in there salt shakers. It keeps the moisture out of the salt and prevents it from clumping together

ive heard of the rice trick never had to try it yet but my lil sister's friend was takin a bath droped her phone in the tub. so there was a rumor goin around that you could take it put it in a bag with the battery out and throw it in the freezer and it would work. so she did and the phone still works till this day. i dont see how though i would think that it would just freeze what water was inside then u start to use it and it melts agian and phone shuts down cause its wet once more lol. but wtf do i know worked for her

I use to do ipod/iphone tech support so i've heard them all, from "i washed my daughters ipod" to "i got shot and my iphone saved my life cause i could still dial 911 even though it was covered in blood" < true story, ended up that Apple didn't give him shit even though it saved his life.

the bag of rice doesn't always work, and most likely will fail a lot quicker then it would if it hadn't gotten wet, cause even though it has dried out, the water will still corrode the connections and circuit board

I left my ipod in my pocket and my wife washed it... 2 days after I bought it. I pulled it out and it was soaked and useless.. you could see the water in the screen. I put it in my drawer, forgot about it and 2months later found it and plugged it in to charge and BAM worked and still working. No rice either. lol

thats a weird trick though. hmmm (going to the sink right now....)

So my daughter decided to jump into a swimming pool this last weekend... She cant swim yet. I jumped in and pulled her out seconds after it happened luckily. Fawkin scare the living hell out of me.
But yeah my phone was in my pocket. I took it apart and put it in a bowl of rice the rest of the day, all night and the rest of the next day and BAM dried out and works like new!

Crazy kids.
