my first ever ticket
Posted: Thu Oct 07, 2010 5:24 pmso i am driving into an intersection and i am going to turn right, i look to see if i have space and i see a cop on the other side of the intersection. The space between me and the police cruiser was more than enough for me to turn, so i start turning and my car isnt even completely in the lane and he already lights me up, so i just think to myself "oh shit", i pull over turn off my car and roll down my window, as he walks up to my car he just stares at my drop and when he gets to my window he asks "is this car yours" and i tell him "yes" and he then asks me "are you sure the car is under your name" and i respond "yes", he then asked me for my license and registration. I hand everything over to him and he tells me to sit tight, so i do.
minutes go by and he comes back.
"do you know why i pulled you over?" he said and i told him that it was probly for the turn i had made. he then gives me the following talk.
"did you see me coming" he said, i said yes but he continued to just talk over me. "i had to stomp on my brakes because you cut me off, and the guy behind me could have hit me".... this is all happening while he stares at my drop, he dosent even look at me half the time.
so he writes me a ticket because i didnt give the right of way. then after i sign the ticket he seems to have taken the stick out of his ass and in a very polite tone of voice tells "go to court and if you want you can ask them for traffic school so you wont pay the ticket" at this point i cant believe what im hearing and tells me that he gave me a break because i wasnt wearing my glasses. i told him it was because the sun was hitting me in the face and i put my shades on, and then he asks me "what does that have to do with anything?", i just stayed quiet but i mean geez im wearing my sun glasses because the sun is hitting me in the face i can still see without my prescription ones.
im not looking for sympathy i just had to blow off some steam guys.
