#218340 so ever since i used my buddies auto darkening helmet where my welds where easily another 30% better ive been looking into them and i would like to hear your thoughts on these helmets

my other friend actually bought a cheapy off ebay for around 40 and the only thing i dont like is its not adjustable so if your welding and all of a sudden you accidently hit a rust spot your eyes tend to pay the price there so im looking for adjustable speeds and stuff like that ....im leaning towards the first one but yea let me know my budget of coarse i dont want to shovel out a lot as im on a budget but to be able to weld better due to something as simple as this i like the idea of being able to see easier instead of flipping and flopping my other helmet around....which can be trouble some underneath a car....

#218342 The one i bought was recommended by the welders at my dads shop for the cheap and good categories. My old one was the classic flip flop helmet so it was time to upgrade.

Haven't had a chance to test this helmet yet, but if a 40+ year vet tells me its good i usually don't question their judgment

The only complaint he had on this helmet was if he were welding non stop all day his eyes felt sore, stressed but not damaged of course. And of course we pulled the cheesy flame decals off lol.

For the few hours a day i planned on welding he said it would work fine.
