#228655 Anyone good with Linux? I just installed Kubuntu 10.10 on computer, and am trying to get sound to work with my HMDI video to my TV, i've got the video HDMI working fine, but can't for the life of me figure out how to get the audio to work

All drivers are up to date for both sound and video, Video card is a Palit Nvidia 9600GT, sound card is a Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtremegamer, and yes the SPDIf cable is installed,

everything works fine in windows...

#228766 trust me, i googled for hours yesterday and could only find information that either didn't work, or was obsolete... this switch over to linux isn't going as smoothly as i had hoped :x i'm loving the OS and the customization, but the simple things should be this freaking hard to do

I should note too that the normal audio works fine, it's just the HDMI audio going to my TV/5.1 that isn't working, it was plug and play with the cable in windows, but the audio either isn't being pushed to the card, or to the HDMI itself
