Recent Used Honda Market

As Ive spent most of my time lately, until I finally sold her, Ive been working non-stop on Hondas. It's always kind of relaxing for me. But, my one question to you guys is: What do you think of the market recently? Im asking this question, because Im seriously considering "flipping" cars in my spare time. If I put the money and built a sick K-swapped EG hatch, would someone buy it? I never know the answer to this. I just spent two weeks selling a clean, lowered, EG sedan with a stock d15.

Building is something I really enjoy, but I've just been thinking of trying to make some money out of it. Any input is greatly appreciated. Hahaha And yes, Im in one of those deep thinking modes! :thumb:

i dont think it would be profitable if ur gonna buy a k series engine and tranny and swap it in a honda. it would be nice, but very expensive.

what would be profitable is. buy a shell for what? $200-$500 each. throw a low mile d-series engine for another $100-300. what ppl usually buy is just a REALLY clean car. like clean body and decent interior. if ur good at bodywork it would be much more profitable since u can straighten up the body and paint it all by urself for about another 500 or so depending on quality of paint and supplies. and some stock rims about another 100-300

so what is that maximum expenses are $1600.
something this clean u could probably sell it for about $2700-$3000
u just profitted $1100-1400

anyone else wanna add on ? 8)

Yeah, I totally understand what you mean. Im the kind of person who takes pride in everything he does and gets things done the right way first. Not everyone knows that though! Ha And I don't expect perople to trust me, as I don't trust many myself. On this forum not long ago, somebody posted a link to a EF hatch in PERFECT shape. I bet that guy could sell that so fast and for a good amount of money. I really might just keep the K swap for myself! :D A good part of me does love bringing cars back to their original factory specs, as my uncle whom I live with does that with rare, classic Mustangs. It's going to be done for fun, but I'll definitely bring things back to 100%, 100% right and see what we can do. Im not going to start doing this until next winter though. I have it all planned out.

Thanks for the input though! I'd like to see what others think. The more the merrier? Hahahaha

Dang son! You did hella good work to that. I definitely could probably take the shittest Civic and flip it. Im going to try to find decent ones though. Hahahah Looks good though man :D You gotta build thread? Im gonna feel dumb if you have a link in your sig, I just didnt think to look.... So forgive me, if so.

Here's another thing Ive been thinking of though. Ive always been a big sedan fan.... thats what I just sold actually. But Im gonna be getting home in October with a STUPID amount of money. I really really really want to stick to the EG chassis. But there's pretty much nothing holding me back from doing whatever I want with this car.

This car refers to whatever car I want to buy. I thought about getting a Teg GSR and making one hella clean one. I dont know. Ha One thing I've always wanted is a Del Sol. What do you think of them? I definitely am going to drop a GSR or Type R motor in it, regardless of what I get.

Give me your input :D

to be completely honest hondas only if done right will make you a profit (by dont right what do i mean?

Well not putting alot of time and effort into a car because even tho you may have not spent alot on that z6 engine the time and effort to track downt the parts and put it in do add up....

also expand your car searches hondas are in my mind a stepping stone if you are going to work on cars much like the vw beetle was awhile ago or other cars are today......this will allow you to maximize profit.....

And depending on where you are it might just be best to make them semi modded stock like change the seats to something more comfy (dont do things like race seats as that limits your target grouping since not everyones going to want to have a race seat no matter how much you tell them its comfy.....

there are many more things to take into consideration but the biggest is money no one is going to spend 5k-6k on a car used from teh 1990's unless overly done to where your the one losing money now thats an extreme case but duly noted as there are people out there with jdm integra front ends on their teg and whatnot.....

Thats a good call. A good size of it is also just because I want to do it. It sounds like fun to me. Probably my biggest hobby. But, where I live, Kansas City, MO, Ive seen a good amount of semi modded cars go for a decent amount. Most of the cars around here are rusted though, so if you try to sell a good clean, no rust car, youll usually have it sold quick. Thats the work nobody wants to do, but I dont mind it.

Btw, I found a decent EX sedan and can get it for $600. I might get it and take apart what needs to be done and finish it when I get home. Its a good deal though. About a 100,000 miles

that ex sedan sounds like a steal w/only 100000 miles! i say go for it.

EDIT: lol no build thread for me. i have a newbie thread postedwith pics but i dont keep up on it anymore :(

Yeah. Everything's original on it. It has some pretty bad Honda rust though, but I don't mind welding. I could give the motor a quick run through to see if it's okay, which Im almost positive it is. I kind of want to keep it, but then again, I dont know. Ive always wanted a JDM d15 Vtec Sedan. I don't know why, it just sounds cool to me. Who knows. I can get good deals on anything. Im a super saver from hell, man!

i have maybe 1k in my car and it would prob sell for 2.5. 3-3.5 with another 500 bucks. I dont know about where you guys live but they seem easy enough to flip here.

Im from Kansas City, MO. I dont know the exact size of the only Honda market, but Im pretty sure it's huge. I got 75 emails the first day I posted my B16A hatch awhile back. Sold it in two days for $4000 with no rust.
