#26391 I was just thinking what is the lowest insurance group car.

I know most of you on here are American. but over here in england we basically have insurance groups of 1-20. ( 1=low , 20=highest)
and just to give you some ideas of the groups ......

Nissan 200 SX - Group 18
Nissan Skyline R33 - Group 20
Civic VTi - Group 16

So anyone got any ideas ?
and whats the insurance groups like over in America ?

#26396 I plan on not claiming ANYTHING I do to my car. Sure, an engine might run you a few thousand dollars, but within a year or two you're gonna pay that much more for insurance, so you might as well take the chance of not getting reimbursed for it here.

I know some guys who swapped motors and jumped their insurance to $500-$600 a month...

#26441 god i wish my insurance was that cheap i paid £1400 for my civic, im only 18 but considerin its my 1st year driving and i live in a fairly high risk area its not too bad compared to what some of my mates end up paying for smaller engined cars. mines group 14 and anyone under 21 i think it is cant get insured on anything over group 15

#26448 Yeah, your right mate.

Anyone under 21 in the UK wont get insured on anything above 15, and if they're lucky enough to find a company that will touch them they have to dish out some mega big bucks for it.

#26451 It's really REALLY unfair. Insurance companies work on terms of risks and returns. Just because a few stupid assholes are careless with nice cars means the rest of us pay for it. It's legalized extortion and legalized discrimination.

If a black man wants a job at my store, but I've had a few black people steal from my store, I can't refuse him a job or pay him less because of that, it's discrimination.

If a 20 year old wants insurance on a Stage 16 but a few other 20 year olds have gotten in accidents and made the insurance companies lose money, they'll charge you extra so that they make sure they make money, and it's perfectly legal.

Make sense to anyone? This has been a cause of frustration for me for many years, three things can be guaranteed in life:

Politicians get paid for lying, banks will make billions of profits and insurance companies will NEVER lose a cent, they probably will never come close to earning anything less than 1 billion each year.

#27444 I pay 50 euro's every 3 months for insurance (and another 80 per 3 months for taxes).
I'm 24, live in a low-risk area, and I've build up 80% no-claim discount over the past 5 or 6 years.

Do you guys build up no-claim discount over the years you didn't cause accidents?

#27521 Yeah we get no claims bonuses, but like me, ive only been driving a year and a bit so insurance is a killer :(

Last year mine was £130 a month, so like $260ish...

Although you can get insured on sir's at 19, my friend at uni is
