you can't test for compression with the head off of the block, but for that price and unknown mileage you might as plan on building it anyways since it is already apart.

Me owning a crv i know from my research the issues
the valves in the b20z's at least since ive seen approx 4 crvs with my issue the vlaves are weak and end up going
the b20 that your looking into you would need to rebuild anyways from how the guy is talking about it but in the long run the oem b20b1 or the 96-i think 98 crv motor (range in numbers and im also thinking us spec) are well under powered to say the least but im sure if you build it the engine wouldnt be half bad but at the same time im on the fence about this engine since why would you take apart a engine and leave it apart did the timing belt break? Since he did say the head was apart...i dont know really seems like too big gamble for me to say its a good buy

$200 is worth buying the motor and rebuilding it with good parts, it can be used to build the bottom end build the head. I dont think this is a bad deal at all... even if it had bad compression, bad valves, bad anything it really isnt bad if you pick it up to build it.
