I signed up a while back for the monetized ads on my youtube videos (the ones that pop up on the bottom and you have to click the [x] to make them go away).

Yeah they're kind of annoying but I just looked at my account for the first time in a while and they're earning me about $50/mo

Most of my uploads are misc vids of our cats or offroading or track vids.

If anyone had a decent collection of videos they have shot, I recommend you get started with the monetized ads I hopet to see other members earn some extra $$ as well - it couldn't be easier!

Not at all. I think there might be a way you can pay to have your video as a "featured video" and appear higher up or at the top of the results, but I've never done that or looked into it.

You'll need to buy a camera and have a computer/software to edit the videos if you want to. Or you can upload them straight to youtube without editing them. You can use your phone's camera too & upload straight to youtube if it's an iphone/android or other phone with a good camera.

you must be getting quite a few views. i have it on one that has like 800 hits, which isn't anything..

if i monetize all my vids will it get them more hits? what happens if one of your vids has "illegal" background music and it happens to go viral..??

and btw, is there any way to pick the screenshot of your video besides the 3 they let you choose from??

Most of mine are under 1k hits but I have a handful over 1k and a few around 5k, a couple around 10k and one of the cat videos at 150k+

I have not found that monetizing increases views or hits. Keywords and a good screen shot help though. I don't think there is a way to pick a screen shot other than the 3 they give yo to pick from.

If you have any copyrighted material in your upload, don't monetize it. I heard they can cancel your account

Teal, how do they pay you monthly? Is it a cheque that goes to your addy? or paypal? Mine been monetized for 4 weeks now I haven't got anything yet

We all should make a Civic compilation video, that will get a lots of views!

When you register for Adsense, you give google your mailing address. Then when your account accumulates $100, they automatically send you a check. I prefer check because no paypal fees They don't have paypal as an option.

I just sat through the entire preview for some movie ad for your LS1 video... see if your stat goes up by one in the near future.

It was like a minute long so hope it earns you something good!
