Dealership people stole from my car!!!

I returned to Hall Honda Va Beach to get my seat belt fixed because it wasn't retracting properly on June 11, 2012 and had a 3:30pm appointment with the red team at the service department. Upon receiving my car at 4:55pm I took it out of the service department and parked in the parking lot to give it a look over. Seat belt was great! but, I noticed that my cup/coin holder from a 92-95 Ford Taurus ($20 from Ebay) that I left on the front passenger floor was missing. Went back in and told the service advisor (John Doherty) about it and he directly took me to the technician. Technician said he never saw it and the John Doherty told me "maybe your forgot it or never put it in your car". Before i went in for my appointment I took note of everything in my car. I even placed the coin/cup holder in the front seat before i went inside. By the way, I'm a service member in the USN and I guess this is how they thank me for providing them their freedom.

My wife also called to make a complaint and the manager specifically told her "I guess it has its own two legs and walked out of your husbands car". REALLY!!! That's the customer service they Hall Honda provides to their customers!

Unfortunatly, that sucks you have no proof besides your word that it was in your car, you could file a complaint, possibly contact bbb and flie one with them but the bottom line is without legitemate proof probablly not much will be done.

There will be things said such as maybe your door was left unlocked and someone took it walking by etc..etc...etc.. sounds like your already not getting much help or concern from service department.

Only argument you may have at this point is to tell them you will not be coming back to them for service if they wont make good on it.

That may even be a slim chance of solving anything

Unfortunatly quality customer service, honest people, and the motto the customer is always right went out the window a long time ago.

Its hard to trust anyones word now adays Customer or Buisness

My girlfirned just bought a car two months ago upon the agreement that they would fix certain items on a list the dealership signed upon as well as her. She gave them the schedule she could be there to get work done on the car.

They told her they needed to order parts and it would be 2 weeks before she could bring her car in to get the parts and repairs they agreed to do.

She took her car down on the one day that fit within the schedule and they told her they would have to reschedule due to parts not arriving and other workers not available due to working on more important things that day.

She finally had a day she could go get it done and they popped up a one month for repairs clause on her that deemed the agreement they had made to take care of repairs void because she did not do them in a timely manner goes to show how far good buisness goes these days.

 that sucks. shows some people cant run a buisness. least you can smile and correct your mistake by never going back there. they have lost a customer that could of potentially spend thousands of $$$$$$ over a $20 coin holder. if i was you i would go back there and laugh at them and make a big scene in their work of place then they will probably loose more customers

The only reason I brought it there was just for the seat belt. I usually work on my car myself. Never really trust anyone with my car.

Best part is the guys was trying to make me think it wasn't in my car or forget that i even put there. I'm a Aircraft Mechanic (F-18's), can you imagine if I forget to put something in a jet. Yeah, I don't have an option to forget.

Same thing happened to my wife's car...It was supposed to get it painted but they kept pushing back the appointment. Then they were like we can't do the work for no charge cuz you went over your date on the paper.

All I hope for them is that Karma gets them sooner instead of later. I would laugh if all their cars got broken into and say the same thing they said to me "I guess it was never in your car"

That's definitely a bad situation you might not get anywhere with if there is no proof.

So lets say I roll in there with 1000 watt amp and a W7 sub...If they stole it there would be no proof of me even having it before i went in?

My car was back there for 1 hour and a half.
