Which sticker on a transmission is the VIN #?

A while back i was spraying something around the block/ tranny and the fuckin sticker peeled off and im just wondering if that was the vin # or what..

on a diffrent site i notice that theres a sticker on the left, idk if my b16 tranny has that same sticker?

and also i was told that on the transmission somewhere the vin should be "stamped" in ..

which 1 is it :? :?

A. the sticker thats closest to the motor.... like right above the slave cylinder..

B. the damn sticker on the left of the tranny..

C. theres a stamp somewhere?

your VIN number is that metal strip on the top left corner of your dash..you can see it through the windshield

edit* the sticker on your tranny tells you what tranny you have

THERE HAS TO BE a serial? or vin? or someting on the tranny?

how would they report stolen parts? or identify them???

i mean yes the sticker that fell off was the 1 that sayd Y12 or w/e but on the side of it or under it it had a buncha number like 80123426 or sumtihn like that...

At one time there was a metal plate, with the serial number on it, screwed into those holes. Look for that on your trans. :thumb:

Not my engine BTW!! My shits never that dirty.

I'd keep that tag, don't throw it away. At least that way if you ever get pulled over and they pop your hood, you can at least have proof that it fell off and it is not stolen.

probably because they swap engines out more because of the "high" miles and old motor and soo much maintenance i dunno lol too long to explain
