#322367 Truly a very tragic horrific thing that happened. My daughter is 5 and in kindergarten and I can not even fathom the thought of losing her. Those kids and families were/are definitely in my thoughts. I honestly get teared up EVERYTIME I really stop and think about it.

#322376 Ditto, I felt bummed all weekend. Prayers for those families & teachers.

They were talking about it on the news this morning before work while feeding my daughter and I had to change it because I felt like it was going to make me depressed the whole day until I got home. :(

#322381 As a father I can't even imagine what that would feel like, I honestly cried when I heard the news, my tears flowed and my blood boils . It makes me hug my daughter even stronger and appreciate my bundle of joy. My daughter isn't in school yet but I'm thinking of home school when she does

This has me thinking home school as well. If our children are not safe in elementary school then i dont think its even worth enrolling them. They need to step up the security big time.

U.S. public school system and colleges are out of date and in my opinion failing us and affecting our society but that's a whole other topic I don't want to bring into this thread

#322457 I FIRMLY believe there's more to this than "some mentally ill" shooter. There has been too much death, etc lately for me to believe someone just decided to shoot up a bunch of kids.

Especially since this and Aurora are so similar.

1 shooter
Heavily armed
Body armour
No real reason for his actions
Slight mental illness

Thoughts to all the families involved. I cannot understand why something like this happened.. But there IS MORE TO THIS! More than we are being told.

#322546 It's crazy..this is why schools need security guards and crap. Just more security. Plus the day this happened I read like 3 different articles and first is was this many people dead, then this many, there were 2 shooters, then one. Like get the facts together before writing the article people -_-

#322838 What are security guards going to do? Have you seen security at ANY establishment? Worthless...

What they need to do is change their stupid laws. Dudes mom tried to have him commited to a mental institution to get him help but in connecticut, and MANY other states, you cant do that. Only the person needing the help can commit themselves. Thats horseshit!!!!
