#322806 Started to really get into the RC drifting bit over here. My buddies and I are doing regular meets and have a small Facebook page set up (skideworks RC)

Am hopefully getting my own car with Xmas cash and just wondered if anyone else did this.

If so post a pic of your car with specs so we can all see

#322808 My girlfriend's cousin is really into RC stuff. He has RC cars no drifting cars, Helicopters big ass 1's, planes big ass 1's as well. I have been wanting to get into the RC drifting but walking into them RC stores or websites can be overwhelming if ur just starting out. I would like to see what setups u guys r running so i can get a basic idea of what 2 look 4.

#322837 Was/is the same for me didn't really know much about it but got an invite to go try it out at Driftworks HQ so a group of us went down and some of my friends had bought cars specially for the day and one bought a car while we were there.

For me there seems to be a few brands/chassis that a worth considering.

Tamiya TT01/01D is a rear mounted motor with shaft run drift it has front and rear diffs so you can then lock the rear to help drift. Not the best weight distribution but a good cheap entry level car to start you off (I'm buying a TT01D)

Next is a new company that's taking the scene by store MST they have a ready to run package which is really good and will get you sliding right away and then it you want hop ups (upgrades) theyre cheap and easy to find on eBay. They also have pro stuff with carbon fibre chassis and alloy suspesion allot more money looks really cool but big bucks.

My favorite and also the most expensive is the HPi sprint 2 really nicely balanced and has great control comes with lots of adjustable parts and plenty of hop up options I test drove a friends of mine who had just done a frot mounted motor upgrade and was tandem drifting pretty much right away.

There are many other brands out there but these are the biggest that have specific drift models and parts so I'd say start with one of these depending on budget. Hope this helps any more questions just ask and I'll see if I can find out for you.

#323277 I've drifted rc cars before but not the modern day plastic tired, gyro equiped drifters. We just used shaft drive touring cars with stiff springs rubber slicks and fast brushless motors. But as far as rc goes i'v owned over 50 or so. I currently race 2wd/4wd shortcourse. And i have a custom works driect drive sprint car on the way.
