What's up guys. I've just started my Automotive Technology class at mt school this term and was wondering about some tools and other things...

Some questions I have are how big of a toolbox should I start out with? and What tools or sets would you buy first to start with?

I have a list of things that I may need but not all of the tools are required.

Ive also got a deal through the snap on Student Excellence Program and get pretty much 50% off EVERYTHING. :thumb:

works great.

for tools, i'm guessing there should be air so get a good impart gun, 3/8 rachet (either full or butterfly, or both).

what all does your program consist of?
because i know i got the full set of oil filter tools (http://www.amazon.com/Lisle-54920-10-Piece-Filter-Wrench/dp/B000W0T8VU/ref=sr_1_24?ie=UTF8&qid=1357632114&sr=8-24&keywords=oil+filter+wrench)

aswell a full stuby set of wrenchs make life way easier.

My program right now Is light repair and maintenance. Thats a pretty sweet oil filter set. The bulk of my tools will consists of wrenches, ratchets, screwdrivers, pliers, torx bits, ect. But what specialty tools would be on the Must have list?

And do you guys think a locking service cart would provide enough storage for now?

and what carts or boxes would you recommend?

I am on my last year of Automotive school right now. I have the Snap-on classic 78 tool box in flat black & it is the perfect box for the trade. It has alot of room for tools & stuff. As of what tools you should get, your school should have a required tool list/set that is reccomended. You should ask your instructor for it. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. Best of luck to you. :thumb:

What you need to do is hit up some pawn shops iv got a lot of snap on , matco, Mac, an corn well tools there some that were about 400$ worth for only 130 so check them out an don't start buying off the truck an end up with a big bill because it sucks
