So my gf's car 's steering wheel shakes a lot after 65mph. I've ruled out bent rim and tires because they still look ok and the whole car doesnt shake, just the steering wheel. The mech says need new struts but i dont trust him. anyone got other idea what could be wrong?

i had a similar problem before kinda

i had a 92 CX with Rota flights on it and Toyo Proxies 4 on the front (205/50/15) and like sometimes it would pull really hard to the right like massively and like i switched them around and it drove perfect... i dunno if that helps any i had them on right the first time and after i swapped them out the thread was facing the wrong way :S but i soon later needed new tires anyways

That would be my suggestion too, mine used to do this but then i got all 4 wheels balanced and it was gone

x2 I had this problem with my civic...one of the front rims just happened to be bent just a tiny bit and it definitely affected the steering...are any of your wheels like ...insanely balanced? Like a 2.75 on the front and a .5 on the rear or anything of the sort...?? if you do then its a sure answer that one of the tires are horribly balanced or a rim is slightly bent...my 2 cents
