Im back from IKE!!

IM back home with power and everything. I stayed here instead of leaving and lost power Friday about 11 pm and didnt find out I had power back until about 5pm today. Its nice to have AC again. That and watch something other than the news on tv.
All in all it wasnt that bad. My daily got some water in the floor board but thats it.

I was wondering how you were doing down there since you hadn't posted in a day or 2. how bad was flooding in your area? any damage to your car or home? Most of my relatives live in Houston, they "huckered down" as well

I was sweatin it when it was around Cuba. I was all stocked up and filled up all the gas cans.

My place was perfect. 2nd floor apartment. The complex, just got some trees and fences knocked down and lost power. My broken hatch is sitting pretty. nothing happened to it. My daily on the other hand got some water in the floorboards but thats it. Imma take it up to work, change the oil and tranny fluids and try to clean her up and make her all nice and pretty.
I went to my moms and checked out how that was, and she faired about like I did, minus the water in the cars. My dad on the otherhand I dont know. The video feeds and such from his area didnt look good at all. Not sure how much they showed the rest of the country, but if you saw Kemah on the news, he was right around that area, and it was under lots of water. he was in the mandatory evac area, but his Job wouldnt let him leave being that he is a Firefighte/Fire marshall for Baytown. he was in charge of one of the shelters there. Didnt get to check on his house until late saturday if anything. Still havent gotten ahold of him yet.

No, my camera was dead and I couldnt get batteries for it cuz everything was closed.

Some did indeed. galveston was hit the worst. Way before the storm hit the water was coming up over the seawall. which is like 15 feet tall and 30-50 yards from where the water normally is. By way before I mean the storm hit at about 2am Saturdayish and sometime thursday it was at the seawall.

I just talked to my dad just now. I found out that nothing happened to his house at all. Im so relieved.
