May have found my dream car....

Well I think i just found my dream car no its not a ferarri nor a bmw....Its a Datsun 260z....A buddy of mine has been searching for a 280z for him and low n behold parked right next to a car he found is a gem (or diamond in the rough which ever way you look at it) He got talking with the guy and both are runners with minor problems the 260 needs the carbs rebuilt, and the 280 needs a MAP sensor (fuel injected)....

Now he is asking for a packaged deal since the guy wants these two gone....and for a killer price technically 300 each. so my buddy is trying to sell his integra that needs some work and im selling up a storm of stuff.....I want this car badly in the worst way. but no im not selling my civics lol its not that bad

But if you are unfamiliar with wtf i am talking about. you may have heard of the 240z and the 280z well the 260z is pretty close to each it has the same engine as the 240z and the earlier models of the 280. though it is bigger than the 240z but not as big as the 280z now this is a big + since im tall as well im just tall and when i was shorter and in 10th grade i sat in a 240z and just fit so now that im taller the 260z is probaly the best thing for me since i do not want a rear seat like the 280 dose....the interior is probaly the best thing about these cars serperated guages now this is just my veiw on things i love everything about these cars except for the rear drum but hey i can do a disc conversion yea!!....

but to get to the real thing this has placed a block on my fund for now ....I dont know if this is going to be ok but this is a very good deal on something ive been looking for well sicne i was in 10th grade lol but i mean its the orange color i wanted black interior also its a manual i cant ask for more i would even care if there was no engine and the car is a cali car wtf no rust either thats a hard to come by car in NY....

So tell me what you guys think about this yea its alot to read but here are some teaser shots of what the car looks like (not actual car)

The first picture has much potential. The second picture fail!! horrid flares and nasty rims

260s are nice, but I will only settle for a 240z. Nice find.

just posted the extremes stock and custom....im probaly going stock with mods of coarse but i do want to keep working on my civic I had problems with this before as a teen i had two cars and let one slip and regretted every minute of it because if i had fixed the problem i would not have wrecked her.....bad strusts in the rear with a rwd car dose not do good when turning corners on hard to grip roads during winter(salt big time) just sucks horribly but hey im older and i know i can do 2-3 project cars at one time now i just have to spend time here and there.

But yea i definately dont like the last pic but the interior is just soo sexy on these cars lol so much nicer than the 350z wanna b s30 interior

I really like the interior & gauge layout 8)
I like the exterior, but the tiny tucked wheels & hubcaps look a little silly. Throw some larger period correct alloys on there and it's done :woot:

lol well that isnt the actual car just a 260 to show what it looks like stock and well actually those are actually how ugly the rims looked im probaly going to get some aftermarket but somewhat period correct rims for it when and if i get it i really think i am going to but it all depends on if i start selling and getting rid of stuff......

a good period rim with awesom offsets would be the RS watanabes

16x9 with a -13 for the front
16x9.5 wiht a - 19 for the back

looks killer and fits. With the ZG flares.

Yes yes they do

however i was thinking something along the lines of these rims since i already have them off my old bmw 635csi (1985 thats where you get the 85 on the last part of my name lol) but yea i have the same bbs rims ive held on to them for ever im just hoping though i know deep down they wont fit. im just going to have to figure something out

Image

or if that image dose not work just search the devil Z from wangan midnight it has approx the same rims but black mine are gold with white lip

but we will see what happens I rather my rims go onto another 6 that I will own!!! but yea rims are the least of my worries I definately want to check for rust though now that me welder is working i can fix the cancer its just better to make sure the whole thing isnt rust......

I love the Z's. They are such awesome cars. The Watanbes are a great rim choice for the z. The pic of the BMW rims didnt work, the z one did.

Im going to make a post in the other car thread on Z cars.
