#73559 So i was just wondering if anyone on here plays paint ball. If so, how often do you play? where? What games? what are you using for a marker?

i am new to it really, i bought a JT tactical tac5m recon. i played with it for a few games out back just with my brothers, but i noticed that any target like 45-50ft away there was no way of hitting it, useless 8" barrel. so i upgraded it to a 16" rifled barrel and now i'm painting anything in my way!

My friends and i just normally just go shoot each other in the woods behind my house. I love it, gets the adrenalin pumping, i can see why some people are obsessed with it.

My marker...nothing special.

#73605 I used to play a lot. I mostly played in the fields but also played speed ball in a few local tournaments. I started out with the rugged Tippmann 98 custom then bought an autococker similar to this one.

#73621 Did you like your 98? i'm thinking of getting one of them or an a5. Autococker, are they the ones that can be really fast like 30 bpm?

#74970 I'm a huge Woodsball fan. I haven't played in ages though. I have a tippmann a-5 with an e-grip, a foregrip with a remote line, SAW stock, a flatline barrel with a shroud over it.

I also have another a-5 with a response trigger, a 22" barrel, extended longbow stock, a low pro 25 rnd hopper, and foregrip. AAAAND a Spider MR-2 w/a Halo hopper for shits and giggles.

Check out my thread: Classified Thread to get at my vest. It's been so long since I've played. the only reason I haven't sold my guns is... well... I guess you never know when you want to shoot shit up. Last year i had someone kick my 03 civic sedan's rear driver side panel in with his boot. he then threatened to rip my rear axle out from under my EJ with his truck. I notified the police, told the school administrators, and they did absolutely nothing. On the way home from the homecoming game, in the back of my friend's dodge, we unloaded nearly case of paint within about 30 seconds on full auto into his shiney truck. Good times.

P.S. I just noticed something I thought was funny. Rear axle. haha.

Sorry man I totally missed this...Yeah I loved the 98. I still have it up in Ohio. It's been through hell man. Its like an ak-47 they can get the crap beat out of them and still shoot the same. I knew a few people with the A5 but I was never a fan. The autococker can shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger. I had an e-grip on it so I could set how fast it shot. I just used the 3 round burst and it was awesome. I definitely dont regret getting the 98 though I loved that thing.

#75363 What D15kid said. The 98 is a damn good gun. We have/had an all tippmann team and I can honestly say from experience that tippmanns are like the Hondas of the paintball world. They are relatively affordable, and you can beat the shit out of them and they still run hard. If you were to go with a tippmann in the future, I would highly suggest you go for a a-5. The A-5 is a BADASS gun, looks great (styled after the MP5), and it comes stock with a cyclone feeder. The cyclone feeder never chops balls or dry fires like normal gravity fed hoppers. every trigger pull it uses a little unused gas that would have otherwise been wasted and uses it to cycle a ball into the chamber, thus eliminating dry fires all together. Again, the ingunuity reminds me of hondas. XD

Plus you can get a flatline barrel for your tippmann. not the most accurate, but like the .50 cals, they allow you to "reach out and touch someone."

Edit: I just read the OP. If distance is an issue for you, then I would REALLY recomend you go for a flatline barrel. (made by tippmann ONLY for tippmann guns) They cost about 80 bucks but they are worth every penny. The barrel has a slight curve to it and there is texture inside the barrel so when a ball is fired, the combination of the slightly rough interior and curvature of the barrel puts a backspin on the ball thus making it shoot nearly a 100ft farther than the stock barrel. Unlike the average barrel, instead of shooting the ball and having it arc down when shot, the flatline barrel, puts a backspin on the ball making it travel in a straight, flat line, before suddenly dropping. Out of the 12 guys we had on the team, 5 of us had flatlines. while the opponent's balls were landing 20ft in front of us, we were still managed to put hella heads down by playing in the backfield safetly out of range, while the rest of the guys advanced.
