4 years later he is going to sell it :eh:

If I spent 17 years of my life on a project that was this famous, idk if I could let it go. I'm sure he will get more $ than your average kit car since he did such a good job on it and the car is famous, but it's still not a real countach.

I've seen this pop up again and again and it is weird to sell something worked on for so long but hey, its his baby. As for those that are going on about it not being real, the original is a nice car but its an old nice car. The power levels are something attainable with a built and/or boosted/charged car any day of the week for a while. Handling is something easily surpassed for a while now too. Heck, we've gotten stock cars with better handling now. And being that is hand built means he had to make it so the suspension and what not could be worked on so that means easily accessible good aftermarket parts. Interior was cool for the time but again, we're looking at things you can get in every day cars now. Technology...well, paddle shifters, drive by wire and a slew of other tech is again in everyday cars. So its easily plausible to make a countach replica that has more power, handles better, is easier to maintain, and has all kinds of bells and whistles for a lot less be still looks good...which is really the main appeal here. One of the main draws for super is looks, plain and simple and the manufacturers will admit that and have. Here we know the provenance and provenience of the vehicle and it has a well documented history thus making it valuable for that exact reason. Its a one off, even if it is a replica, with a good story behind it and like it or not over time those will be worth more. Just ask Jay Leno for when he looks for cars. I'd rock the car because it would be fun and I can only imagine what its capable of once its been properly tuned and track tested.

Sad that he wants to sell, and that he ignored his family so often. Time with your loved ones is priceless!
