need the name of a movie.

I've been scratching my head for the longest time on this one, i can't think of the name of this movie. its an older movie, i think it's based of a book. from what i remember it sets in the 50's or so, there high school kids and there in gangs and they have fights and stuff. its not the Warriors. i think there is a famous actor thats in it. i remember watching this movie in high school and i thought it was pretty good. for some reason Crusade rings a bell, but i couldn't find anything.
